Dear TAO Family and Friends:

It’s getting hot! May brings heat to the Riviera Maya, and we are loving it! To me there is nothing better than the warm promptings of a hot summer day to send me to the ocean, a cool clear cenote, a swimming pool or a beachside restaurant for a cool drink! The heat of summer reminds us that experiences is always a matter of perception and reaction: how do you see it, and what do you do about it? Sometimes a difficult emotion or life change can be like a day that feels too hot.

You may have the impulse to escape or avoid the feeling, only to find that the difficult energy persists or gets worse. Another option is to be curious and experiment. When facing a difficult moment, don’t jump to conclusions, “I hate this,” or “I can’t deal with this,” instead, ask questions like, “what am I really feeling,” “is this really as bad as I think,” or “is there another way I could manage this?” Then, once you open your mind a little, you can try new things. Instead of staying inside on a hot day, go enjoy a lake, or a pool. Instead of avoiding a difficult person or situation, invite them to a conversation, or do something fun with them. You might go to a friend for help, or just get some exercise and revisit the difficult feeling afterwards.

Summer is an amazing time to visit the TAO community and we hope you will join us soon!

Warm regards.

CINCO DE MAYO
5TH OF MAY

The holiday of Cinco De Mayo, The 5th Of May, commemorates the victory of the Mexican militia over the French army at The Battle Of Puebla in 1862. It is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the Mexican state capital city of Puebla and throughout the state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico, and especially in U.S. cities with a significant Mexican population. It is not, as many people think, Mexico's Independence Day, which is actually September 16.

THE WHALE SHARK SEASON IN MEXICO IS COMING!

Whale Shark Season

If adventurers want to take advantage of this phenomenon, you must bear in mind that the whale sharks are usually found around the islands of Holbox México and Isla Contoy from May until September, although mostly during the months of July and August.

They gather here due to the nutrient-rich water around these shores. In fact, 30th August has now been formally established as the Mexican Day of the Whale Shark.
