February is upon us and the rush of high season and holiday time in the Riviera Maya is beginning to settle down. As you continue your journey towards spring the winter days can feel long and demanding. This gives us a wonderful chance to reflect on what we need most in times of stress and endurance. A vacation at TAO is ideal, but what can you do when you are not here with us?

February's Valentine's Day offers some solutions for stress management: the best prevention for exhaustion and the wear and tear of stress is to stay closely connected to the people, places and things you love most. Don't wait for special days, events or hard times to connect with the things that fill your heart. Keep your heart full.

Once a week, spend a couple of hours in a place you love - this could be in nature, engaged in a sport or in a gallery. Once a week share a meal, in an intentional and spacious way, with someone you love (no rushing and no TV). Finally, be sure you find the signs and symbols of love that inspire you and keep the close. Placing a token rock, a meaningful photo, or a spiritual message somewhere that you will see it everyday can make a difference and keep your attitude afloat.

SACRED CENOTES IN THE RIVIERA MAYA

An estimated six thousand cenotes have been found in the Mexican states of Yucatan and Quintana Roo. Many cenotes have become famous touristic destinations, such as Tres Bocas (The three mouths), Cristalino (Cristaline), El Jardin de Eden (The Garden of Eden), Dos Ojos cenote (2 eyes) Yax Mul, Cenote Azul (Blue Cenote) and the most known and mysterious one – the Sacred Cenote or the “Well of Sacrifice”.

EQUINOX AT CHICHEN ITZA
Thursday 20th March from 10AM - 8PM

Join us for this amazing trip to the world famous Chichen Itza and be part of the Spring Equinox. The Mayan archaeological site of Chichen Itza is the most popular spot in Mexico to celebrate the spring equinox. The site's most famous building, The Kukulcan temple, is the site of a dramatic display of Mayan astronomical knowledge.

Every year on the autumn and spring equinoxes the light of the sun makes a play of light and shadow which makes it look like a serpent is slithering along the steps of the pyramid. The effect begins in the late afternoon, around 4 pm, and lasts for an hour or so. The serpent appears for a few days - from around March 19th to the 23rd, but on the actual date of the equinox the effect is most obvious.

**This event will have an extra charge, costing roughly 300 pesos for the admission to Chichen Itza, plus gasoline. We will be leaving the TWC at 10am, and returning at around 8pm. Spaces will fill up quickly, reserve your place at the Front Desk

Stand Up! Records is proud to present The 3rd Annual Akumal Comedy Festival. The festival will take place on April 29 - May 3, 2014 in the heart of Mexico's lovely Mayan Riviera.
