In the HOA budget that was approved for 2017, we had included $334,000.00 to cover the cost of a shuttle for residents, your guests, and renters. Subsequently, Bahía decided to put in place a shuttle, funded by them, that provides the service that we had intended to provide, so those funds have not been used, and remain in our budget.  Now we have Tao Beach Club, which will be opening at the end of May.  Currently, we do not have a service budgeted or funded to provide a shuttle service to deliver people to the Beach Club and since parking there is extremely limited and we are not able to park in TAO Oceans parking spaces, driving over is not an option. And, since the Beach Club is on the other side of the highway, transport requires a licensed vehicle, so we cannot use the golf cart that we have.

We are reaching out to homeowners to get your input on options for this service.  We have requested estimates for the cost of a vehicle to make regular, scheduled runs to the Beach Club, and it will be $309,063.00 from June – December 2017. This includes the cost of the lease of a vehicle, plus the cost of the driver, fuel, and maintenance, i.e. it is the projected total cost. We currently have $334,000.00 pesos which was budgeted for the shuttle which is no longer required, since Bahia is providing that service. So, we request your approval to reallocate the money that was budgeted for the shuttle.

The alternative is that we not provide this service. As a caveat, you should know that if we decide to reallocate these funds, we will not have funding to provide a local shuttle service, should Bahía decide to discontinue the service that they are currently. But, we believe that we can mitigate this risk by using the same vehicle for the internal Bahía route, as well as the Beach Club, since it's basically in the same route.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SERVICE OF THE SHUTTLE TO BEACH CLUB IS INDEPENDENT OF THE POLICY TO THE USE OF THE BEACH CLUB.
