Dear TAO Community
December is here! The last month of the year and a lot of celebrations are taking place during these holidays. A time to think and look back to what 2016 brought for each one of us, a time for reflection on the year that has passed and what we want for the next one. I wish you a joyous and a happy Christmas for you and your family.
I trust that next year will be a good one, full of great experiences, good health and opportunities for all.
We invite you to stop by TAO Wellness Center, our sanctuary for health, and take a moment, breathe deeply, appreciate and be grateful for the wonderful year that has passed.
This month is also filled with music and color; don’t forget The Riviera Maya Jazz Festival which is taking place at Mamita’s Beach, witness ID performed by Cirque Éloize and enjoy every single day of these warmth Holidays.

Travel+Leisure, Mexico’s 2016 Gourmet Awards took place this past October, at Morelia, Michoacán. The restaurant Le Chique, at Riviera Maya, achieved The Best of The Best award. This is the sixth year that this event is hosted, and the concept: The Art of Flavor, was introduced this year to acknowledge the artistic side of gastronomy. Le Chique, headed by Chef Jonatán Gómez Luna and his talented team, have mastered the art of cooking making amazing dining experiences.

A blend of circus, arts and urban dance is presented at the Moon Palace Arena in Cancún, late December and early January. 15 multidisciplinary performers and multimedia give this show a unique and peculiar feel. Cirque Éloize is a Canadian company established in 1993 and it has been creating moving performances filled with magic with nearly 4,000 shows over 40 countries since then. Izamal is considered a Pueblo Mágico – a recognition Mexican Tourism Board with a symbolic and beautiful architecture.
The reason that Izamal is known as The Yellow City, is because most of the architecture is yellow painted, shining like gold under the sun.
Izamal was an important Mayan religious center; there you can visit archaeological sites like pyramid Kinich Kak Moo. Researchers have found and catalogued around 80 pre-Hispanic structures within the layout of the city.
This Pueblo Mágico is located at only 45 min from Mérida (towards Tao). It is definitely worth visiting!
